Materials You'll Need

Gather these 5 items before starting

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 7 steps carefully

In this challenge, stretch plastic wrap tightly over the top of the metal bowl.

Secure it with a rubber band so it is drum-tight with no wrinkles.

Sprinkle a thin layer of salt or sugar evenly on top of the plastic wrap.

Place a bluetooth speaker right next to the bowl, facing the plastic wrap.

The Science Behind It ๐Ÿ”ฌ

Sound is made of vibrations that travel through the air as invisible waves. When these sound waves hit the plastic wrap, they make it vibrate too. The salt on top bounces and moves in patterns that match the frequency of the sound. Lower frequencies make bigger, simpler patterns while higher frequencies create smaller, more complex ones.
